Have you ever kept a big secret? I mean one of those secrets you can only tell your best friend even though you're not supposed to, and you can only begin with something like, "You are not going to believe this!"? That is how Paul must have felt when he wrote this because he is in the middle of explaining that God had been keeping his wisdom a secret, protecting it, until Jesus came and shared it with his friends.
Paul's message is that we should not rely on our own human intelligence or wisdom but rather on the "mind of Christ" which is given to us when we rely on the Holy Spirit in times of decision.
Today, I will rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit in every one of my important decisions.
